I may have to hone each hole to open them up a bit or find other finger pulls with less interference. I have measured the holes in the doors and they are spot on at 0.750 inch diameter and I believe that is just too much of an interference fit and my cause the wood to split. I measured the new ones purchased at HD and the diameter was 0.790 inch. These finger pull can have a very tight press fit. Work your way around the finger pull, lifting it a little on one side then move to the other. Don't try to remove the finger pull in one move as you can damage (crack, split, and/or delaminate) the surrounding wood. Be sure to protect the face of the door from damage from the pry bar (flat bladed screw driver or such) by placing something under it such as the blade of a putty knife. Pull up slightly or use a lever to pry up on the tip of the pliers to slightly raise the finger pull.
